In 2008, she was named Middlesex West Chamber Ambassador of the Year in recognition of her efforts to recruit and retain members.
She presents her popular business self-esteem workshop – What Are You Worth? – to women’s groups throughout the northeast. She started Creative Connections, a natural networking group of entrepreneurial women in creative professions. The only requirement for membership in the invitation-only collaborative – other than the obvious professional qualifications – was a positive attitude. Negative Nellies need not apply.
Kathleen Veth believes in her instincts. And they are rarely wrong, even though she’d never met many of the Creative Connectors before issuing an invite to attend two of three annual Open Meetings.
Another of Veth’s ventures also celebrated the positive. In 2007, she founded Self Discovery Enterprises, which Veth describes as a speakers bureau that also presents events. “Through workshops, seminars, and special events, Self Discovery Enterprises helps girls and women discover who they are and decide who they’d like to be,” she explained.
“I believed in the Law of Attraction before I even knew it existed,” said Veth.
Both Creative Connections and Self Discovery Enterprises had long, healthy, and positive runs.
These days, Veth brings that positive attitude to her new career – sharing the benefits of therapeutic grade essential oils to anyone interested in living a happier, healthier life through what she calls ‘farm-a-ceuticals’ by presenting workshops throughout New England.
“A psychic once told me that in a past life I was a Town Crier. I think she hit that nail on the head,” laughed Veth, whose background is journalism. She was once editor of the Massachusetts-based Chelmsford Independent.
Veth uses her writing, speaking, and marketing skills to enhance various ventures. Several years ago, she started Gifts for Girls, in an effort to provide actual gifts and occasional grants to girls who live, or have lived, in group homes.
“Delivering those gifts the week before Christmas? Well, that was present enough for me,” she admitted.
That positive attitude serves Veth well and made her the perfect fit for the In the Presence of Positive Women group. “IPPW is for women who are positive, sometimes positive, or would like to be more positive,” she explained. “My kind of people!”
